Cole Sprouse had spent over six years in front of the Disney Channel cameras for the hit series ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ followed by ‘The Suite Life on Deck’. Before that, Sprouse had been in multiple films and starred in one of the biggest TV shows in the world, ‘Friends’ as Ross and Carol’s son, Ben. Sprouse recently spoke out about his acting career by saying, “My brother (Dylan) and I were put into acting when we were eight months old by our mother because we needed the money, acting was never my passion,” Who would’ve guessed it?

The actor admits acting wasn’t all bad and there were many pros throughout his TV opportunities. However, when ‘The Suite Life on Deck ‘wrapped up in 2011, Sprouse decided to leave acting and head to New York University to study Archaeology, he graduated with a major in Archaeology on May 20th, 2015, exactly one year ago today.

“I needed to take a break and step outside myself… I needed a dose of reality and I needed to see myself in a more objective point of view.”

While it has been around 5 years since Cole left the small screen to explore other possibilities, he is now returning in The CW’s Archie Comics adaptation now titled ‘Riverdale’ as ‘Jughead Jones’. Sprouse’s character is a heartthrob and former best friend of Archie Andrews who will be portrayed by K.J. Apa. He’s even dyed his hair black for the role and we are going all heart eye emoji over this, as it brings out the 80’s look even more!

Cole has made it very clear that he did enjoy his time on Disney Channel as they made him into the star he is today, he said, “I’m not saying that we didn’t enjoy that time, but it was work, it’s a career and a business, and it got me to college, which is one of the most fantastic gifts I could’ve been given. But I’m glad to be acting on my own accord now”. However, after five years of being in the real world, he is coming back with a completely new perspective. “Now I think I can enjoy acting, which is a really fundamental part of being an actor”.
